Chelsea travelled to Turin on Wednesday night hoping to make up for last weekend’s no show at Stamford Bridge where they lost to Manchester City.
In the first half, Chelsea dominated possession but rarely threaten the Juventus net. At times, Chelsea were caught out at the back.
In the second half, just eleven seconds into the game, Federico Chiesa netted the only goal of the game to hand Thomas Tuchel’s men another narrow defeat.
As it was with the City game, Lukaku was again an isolated figure up front as Bonucci and De Ligt did well to pocket the big Belgian.
Tuchel’s deep defensive style meant they were always left scrambling to get men back on the counter.
Chelsea will now host Southampton in the Premier League come weekend.
