The Commandant-General, of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Audi has blamed the worsening insecurity in the country on a compromised security agencies.
The Commandant believes bandits, terrorists collude with Security outfits for information hence the difficulty in defeating them.
It was at a stakeholders’ summit on the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in Abuja on Tuesday, that Mr. Audi revealed this.
“You will agree with me that the nefarious activities of these criminal elements are being strengthened not only by informants within security formations but equally by those within the society,” Mr Audi told the audience.
He beckoned on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to bring in traditional and religious leaders to help combat the activities of the bandits.
Mr Audi said the federal government should engage “traditional rulers, religious, community, political and youth leaders in the process of finding a solution to this menace.”
