“I just Wanted to Praise Jesus,” Usyk Says after beating Anthony Joshua

After beating Anthony Joshua, putting him in the hospital and claiming all his titles, Oleksandr Usyk has stated that he beat the Briton for Jesus.

Usyk, a Ukrainian triumphed over Joshua by a unanimous decision and later disclosed that he was told by his corner not to knock him out.

Usyk, an Olympic gold medalist, who has never lost a match (19:0) told newsmen that he saw nothing special about Joshua.

“The fight went the way I expected it to go. There were a couple of moments where Anthony Joshua pushed me hard, but just nothing special.”

He is now the IBF, WBA and WBO holder.

Speaking further, he said, “This means a lot for me. I had no objective to knock him out because my corner pushed me not to do that. In the beginning, I tried to hit him hard, but then I stuck to my job.

“The only thing I wanted to do with this fight is to give praise to Jesus Christ. I have been working so hard since January in preparation for this fight, it took me half a year and I didn’t see my family for so long.“I missed seeing them playing. I want to go home and be happy with my family and I’m not thinking about the rematch.”
