Aston Villa leave it late to defeat Man United

It was a David vs Goliath affair at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon when Manchester United hosted Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The home side were hoping to get back to winning ways after their mid week exit at the hands of West Ham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men scrambled through for all three points when they took in West Ham at the London Stadium, with Jesse Lingard getting the winner late on, just before Mark Noble failed to get them a draw from the spot.

However, things didn’t get any better for United even with Cristiano Ronaldo in the side as they fell to defeat late on in their own backyard.

United had 28 shots all game, dominated possession, had a penalty and the crowd cheering them on but still fell to a late Kortney Hause header.

As it was with Noble almost a fortnight ago, two minutes after Villa took the lead, right on the 90th minute mark, United had the chance to get a point, only for Bruno Fernandes to step up and send his kick into the stratosphere. One would wonder why he was allowed to take the kick with Ronaldo in the side.

United now has 13 points, with this being their first defeat of the season.
