Shehu Sani has aimed a dig at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), after they decided to suspend Guinea following Monday’s coup d’etat.
Shehu, a former Senator, slammed the body and other African bodies for always refusing to interfer when leaders abuse power, but come in at the tail end when that abuse of power leads to major issues.
He said this in a tweet on Thursday morning.
“African leaders keep silent whenever their colleagues are changing the constitution to extend their stay in office. They will say they don’t want to ‘meddle in their internal affairs’;Is coup not their internal affairs?,why meddling?”
