“For some time, Chasten and I have wanted to grow our family,” Pete tweeted. “We’re overjoyed to share that we’ve become parents! The process isn’t done yet and we’re thankful for the love, support, and respect for our privacy that has been offered to us. We can’t wait to share more soon.”
They did not disclose any additional details about the process but it is clear they either had them through surrogacy or plain adoption.
Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg is an American politician who has served as the United States secretary of transportation since February 3, 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the 32nd mayor of South Bend, Indiana from 2012 to 2020.
