No fewer than 25 Fulani travellers have been killed after some youths blocked a road in Plateau on Saturday, targeting them.
It was gathered that no fewer than fifty of the Fulani travellers were able to flee for their lives, while about 15 sustained different injuries and are being treated in different hospitals.
The attack occured at Gada-Biyu – Rukuba road area in Jos, the state capital around 10:30am.
It was gathered that the victims had gone to Plateau for a religious meeting and were returning to Ondo State where they were born and bred.
It had been suspected that their attackers were bandits, but intelligence from the Police later revealed that the culprits were Irigwe militia.
The Police also revealed that they seized two trucks, one carrying cattle, only to burn them to ashes. Their victims were killed using knives, daggers and and matchetes
