Nigerians have slammed the Federal Government of President Muhammadu Buhari for again setting at large “repentant Boko Haram terrorists.”
This is coming after one of their top commanders allegedly surrendered his arms.
The Nigerian Army subsequently paraded the over 1000 people, with some holding placards saying they were sorry.
In a statement signed by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the surrendered terrorists & families numbered 335 fighters, 746 women & children.
But Nigerians are not buying it. Many see the exercise as another example of the Federal Government playing with terrorists, while using iron hands in dealing with other people and groups in Nigeria.
Some took to Twitter to express their grievances.
CHow do we even know they can read what is written on the cardboard,” said one Olu Gbenga.
Olorogun said, “The way this government fraternise with people who levy war against our country is rather shameful. They ask Nigerians for forgiveness? For throwing stones and breaking a window, right? They are even smiling? Compare this with the treatment other Nigerians get from our military.”
Chris said, “This is to buttress the need point we have been making ,now the heat for sovereign Biafra nation is much and the northern politicians who are core sponsors of Bokoharam can’t withstand it ,they want to pedal down .we are set to leave and nothing more.”
Another said, “The army gave them the cards to hold up for photo OP.
Who do they think they are fooling?”
