The Borno State Government is set to disburse the sum of N12.8 million to indigenes who are on the cusp of being recruited into the Nigerian Military.
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum announced this on Wednesday during the sendforth of the recruits to their final screening exercise which is set to be held at Falgore Forest in Kano.
He urged the soon-to-be soldiers to make the state proud, while saying that each person is to get N20, 000 and another monthly stipend of N15, 000 during the course of their training.
“I commend your patriotism for choosing to enlist into the (Nigerian) Army. However, as citizens of Borno, I advise that you should be good ambassadors of our state,” said the governor.
