The figure head of Oduduwa Republic, Sunday Igboho has reportedly being arrested in the financial capital of Benin Republic, Cotonou.
This is coming three weeks since he was declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly possessing arms.
The DSS had raided Igboho’s house on 1st July- just two days before the proposed rally in Lagos on the 3rd- in search of the arms, which Igboho claimed were not his, but that they were planted by the Government to implicate him. His cars and his house were destroyed in the process.
According to a source, he was about to take off for Germany when he was arrested by security officials in Cotonou.
“He was arrested in Cotonou while he tried to travel out on Monday night. His destination was Germany. The security forces in Benin Republic should repatriate him to Nigeria on Tuesday,” the source said.
He is to be brought back to Nigeria today, Tuesday.
The Oduduwa Republic also confirmed the arrest in a tweet, saying this means war.
The tweet read, “Now the case begin.
Sunday Igboho has been arrested in cotonou. No more peace in Nigeria. ODUDUWA REPUBLIC NOW/BIAFRA NOW.”
