Human rights activist and media personality, Reno Omokri has stated that the arrest of Pro-Oduduwa Republic agitator, Sunday Igboho is unfortunate.
Igboho was arrested in Cotonou on Monday, after the DSS earmarked him for arrest for illegal possession of arms.
But Reno, who is also a former Aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan said his arrest was unfortunate.
“The reported arrest of Sunday Igboho in Cotonou is unfortunate. He is a hero freedom fighter who defended us. We must also defend him and gather resources for his legal defence. Igboho deserves the same commitment from us, that Buhari is showing to killer herdsmen.”
He called on Afenifere and Gani Adams to raise money for his defence.
“I am ready to publicly put my money where my mouth is. I urge Afenifere and Aare Ona Kakanfo Gani Adams, to OPENLY start a fundraiser for Sunday Igboho’s legal defence. Buhari very openly supports killer herdsmen. We should not hide our support for Igboho’s freedom.”
He added that Buhari’s Aide, Garba Shehu said a while ago that Pro-Fulani sociocultural group, Miyetti Allah deserves respect and if so, Igboho also deserves respect.
He noted that any Western politician who keeps quiet in the face of this must be punished in the forthcoming general elections.
“Any Southwestern politician who remains silent while Buhari persecutes Igboho must be marked and punished in 2023! Garba Shehu openly released a statement that Miyetti Allah deserves “respect”. Igboho also deserves respect, if not from the government, then from us.”
