Shehu Sani, a former Senator who represented Kaduna Central during the 8th Assembly has cried out against autocratic laws being considered or passed by Nigerian legislators in recent times.
Sani decried the many draconian laws that are currently before the National Assembly for consideration.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the former Senator wrote, “Law to censor the Social Media, Law to regulate NGOs and law to jail protesters; Slowly, our democracy legislatively transit to fascism.”
Fascism is a right-wing, authoritarian, nationalist ideology characterized by centralized, totalitarian governance, strong regimentation by business and government of the economy/marketplace and of society, and repression of criticism or opposition.
