Guinness World Records names 112-year-old the Oldest man alive

The Guinness World Records recently confirmed Emilio Flores Marquez, a Puerto Rican, as the oldest living person (male).

He is 112 years, 326 days. This breaks the previous record held by Romania’s Dumitru Comănescu, who died at 111 years 219 days.

Marquez was born in August 8, 1908, in Carolina, Puerto Rico. He was the first-born son and the second oldest of 11 children born to Alberto Flores Melendez and Margarita Márquez-Garcia.

He helped on the family farm and also assisted in taking care of his nine surviving siblings.

Andrea Perez was Márquez-Garcia’s wife for 75

Marquez aka “Don Millo”—was married for 75 years to Andrea Perez until she died in 2010. They had four children, two of whom are still alive.

He currently lives with his children, Tirsa and “Millito,” in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He has 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
