The break down left many passengers on board the train stranded in the bush.
The MD in a text said “Engine failure, but a relief engine has taking over.”
According to Fidelis Okhiria, who is the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, the train broke down due to engine failure.
The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi had promised Nigerians that the used locomotives were in good shape and could last up to 4 years before needing maintenance.
