The alleged killer of Mr. Usifo Ataga, Miss Chidinma Ojukwu has told the Police that she doesn’t want to die for the crime she is being tried of.
Chidinma, 21, who claims she used to live with her uncle in Lagos, told the Police that this was the first time she ever killed someone.
In the past week, the body of Mr. Ataga, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV before his passing, was found in a Lekki hotel room with stab wounds. Upon investigation, Miss. Ujukwu was caught as the prime suspect, and has since confessed to the crime.
The suspect, 300L University of Lagos student, met the late CEO, who was supposedly her sugar daddy, before taking his life.
“I regret killing Mr Ataga. I don’t know what my future holds but I don’t want to die. Please, I don’t want to die because of this case. I have not killed before.”
She apologised to the deceased family for her barbaric acts.
“I was just trying to comport myself to answer questions during the parade and not that I am not showing remorse. I totally regretted everything I did and I am sorry. Mr Ataga’s family, I am deeply sorry for what I did. If I had my life back, I wouldn’t do anything like that. I am deeply sorry and I hope you forgive me,” the PUNCH quoted Chidinma as saying.
She confessed that her actions were as a result of influence of drugs and alcohol.
