Hazard’s goal enough to send Ronaldo & Co. out of Euros

Belgium’s golden generation proved their mettle on Sunday night after they sent defending Champions, Portugal packing from this year’s tournament.

The Younger Hazard stole the show, scoring the only goal of the night.

The Red Devil’s first half goal brought the rather dull game to life. Thorgan Hazard curled in a right-footed effort past Rui Patricio to give Roberto Martinez’s men the lead.

Portugal came back in the second half guns blazing, but they were unable to find a way through Belgium’s compact defence.

Felix, Guirrero and Dias all went close but were unable to find a way.

Ronaldo could not convert his free kick

Ronaldo also tried to draw his side level late on with a free kick but it went agonisingly wide of Courtois’ goal. His free kick miss means the Juventus winger has now scored zero goals out of 24 attempts at the Euros.

The defeat means Portugal only managed one win at this year’s Euro. Belgium on the other hand, have so far won all their games.

Belgium will now face Mancini’s Italy side, who also have not lost or drawn a game since the competition began earlier this month, in the quarter finals.
