According to the United States Consulate, no fewer than 13, 000 Nigerian students get enrolled into American Universities yearly.
Stephen Ibelli, who is the Public Affairs Officer at the US Consulate, made this known on Tuesday at the launch of Windows on America Hub at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
He noted that Nigerians are the most populous migrant people group in the United States, and further reiterated the Hub’s commitment to making sure this relationship between the two nations continues to blossom.
“We have about 13,000 Nigerians admitted to study in the U.S. yearly. This shows that both nations share diverse cultural uniqueness,” he noted.
The US Consulate in Nigeria is continuing a push for educational development in the country. Earlier this year, they were at the University of Lagos where they inaugurated the education advisory centre.
Collaborative opportunities were also discussed with the University authorities during that visit.
