On Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari received the first made in Nigeria smartphone, known as ITF Mobile.
He was shown the phone today at the start of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting by the Minister of Industry, trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo.
The Minister said the phone was made using local materials by the Electrical/Electronics Technology Department of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Model Skills Training Centre.
According to him,“Twelve indigenous mobile cell phones produced by the Model Skills Training Centre of the Industrial Training Fund; an agency under Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment was launched.“It gives me great pleasure Mr President, to present you with one of the phones.”
“Our people are not known for burning homes to punish enemies. Destroying police stations and infrastructures can never be the best path to express grievances,” he added.
