The Governor of Imo State, Mr. Hope Uzodinma has expressed renewed hope that the many security challenges the state is facing are now over.
Governor Uzodinma said this during a church service, after about five hoodlums were shot and killed by men of the Imo State Police Command.
The hoodlums, it was gathered, tried to breach another police station in Owerri, this time the State Command Headquarters, during which they got into a shoot-out.
Consequently, 5 of them were killed out of the dozens that marched on the Headquarters.
The Governor noted that the gunmen were attempting to free some of their colleagues who have been locked up.
“Government will not fold its hands and allow the security and welfare of our people be trampled upon” the Governor stated.
