Jose Mourinho has been relieved of his duties as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
This is coming just hours after Tottenham announced that they will be part of the extended Champions League.
According to a statement released by the club, the decision came after a series of poor results, which Jose Mourinho has done little or nothing to improve.
Spurs have lost seven of their previous 14 Premier League games, winning just five matches and drawing two, while also exiting the FA Cup in the fifth round with a defeat at Everton and then came an embarrassing collapse in Croatia as they threw away a 2-0 first leg lead to lost 3-2 on aggregate at Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
There has also been complaints about his style of football, as well as his treatment of some big names at the club, both of which has affected the general aura at the club.
However, most see the decision to sack him as ill-timed, as they will be taking on Manchester City in six days time in the League Cup final.
On Monday, the clubs former midfielder and current Head of Player Development, Ryan Mason took charge of training, and will for the time being lead them out against Pep Guardiola’s men.
