The son-in-law of Rochas Okorocha, the former Governor of Imo State, Uche Nwosu has donated the sum of N1m to Mary Daniel, a water hawker who is also an amputee.
According to a video, the Kogi-born Mary said that she lost her parents and her leg as a then 10-year-old in a ghastly car accident.
Since then she has been risking her life selling water on the busy streets of Lagos, as she tries to make a living and also feed her daughter and grandmother.
On Sunday, Mr. Nwosu who contested the 2019 gubernatorial elections in Imo State decided to come to the aid of Mary.
The politician, who urged other Nigerians to assist the lady, said, “Daniel has demonstrated the kind of I can-make-it spirit which Nigerians were known for.”
