Jangebe School Girls Regain Freedom

The over 300 school girls that were abducted on Friday have now regained their freedom.

A source told the Punch on Saturday that talks with the kidnappers of the girls were at an advanced stage and that it was possible that the girls would be freed on Sunday.

It has been gathered that the 317 girls who were kept at Dangulbi and Sabon Birnin Banaga in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, during the period of their abduction, have been moved to the palace of the Emir of Anka, as they await transportation to the state capital, Gusau.

Attempts to confirm from the State Government, if any fee was paid in the negotiations that led to the freeing of the girls, failed.
