President Mohammadu Buhari has said his administration will not allow any ethnic or religious group to stoke up hatred and violence against other groups in the country.
The President stated this on Sunday, while condemning recent attacks on ethnic groups in the country.
He assured of his administration’s readiness to swiftly put up measures at contailing the spread of any such violence.
In a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to the President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, the President also appealed to traditional anad religious leaders as were as public office holders to collaborate with the government to ensure peace in their communities.
“He appealed to religious and traditional leaders as well governors and other elected leaders across the country to join hands with the Federal Government to ensure that communities in their domain are not splintered along ethnic and other primordial lines,” the statement concluded.
