A former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Jonah Wuyep who has now retired, has stated that he is confident that the new Service Chiefs will do well in their respective new roles.
Wuyep, 72, who served during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime, was particularly sure of the capabilities of the new Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao Oladayo. He said all these in an interview with journalists in Plateau.
He noted that Amao is known for his astute performances in ensuring peace and progress of Nigeria.
According to him, ‘’Amao is a brilliant and outstanding officer who would do well as the Chief of Air Staff. He is a dedicated professional with the requisite experience for the job.”
“Amao has the requisite experience for his new job with his core competence in strong leadership and professional skills. Air Vice Marshall Amao had brought his wealth of experience to bare on all his assignments in the Nigerian Air Force,” he said.
The former CAS also called for collaboration between security agencies, as he said this would help the new Service Chiefs in discharging their primary duty of restoring Nigeria to peace.
He added: “I would expect the government to give them all the support to do their best. I expect to see more synergy; let them work as a team and carry out more intelligence gathering.”
