No fewer than 29 persons have died in Norway after receiving Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines.
All of the deceased were however either 75 years of age or above, authorities in the Scandinavian nation have confirmed.
Authorities had thought that the danger zone was for those from the age of 80 and above, but the recent deaths has lowered that to 75.
So far, only Pfizer’s BioNTech vaccines are being used in Norway, since vaccination began on December 27, 2020.
Pfizer has also confirmed the deaths and has, together with BioNTech, and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH), began investigations into the incident.
According to their findings, the number of deaths so far is not alarming and still falls within the expected range. Their findings also revealed that the deceased had other underlying health issues.
Since the vaccination program began in in December, more than 25, 000 people have so far been vaccinated.
