Just four days to the swearing in US President-elect, Joe Biden, a member of the House of Representatives is already vowing to file articles of impeachment against him.
According to reports, the newly elected Representative from Georgia’s 14th congressional district, Marjorie Taylor Greene, said she will file the impeachment notice on the 21st, just a day after Biden’s inauguration.
“I would like to announce on behalf of the American people, we have to make sure our leaders are held accountable, we cannot have a President of the United States who is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, foreign Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies, so on January 21, I will be filing articles of impeachment on Joe Biden,” Greene told the conservative media outlet.
This is coming after the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly, 232 votes for and 197 votes against, to impeach outgoing President, Donald Trump. It is on record that 10 of the votes came from Republicans.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is an avid Trump supporter and being a Republican, it is understood.
The 46-year-old who is known for wearing a face mask with the word “censored” on it, has also started a hashtag on Twitter called #ImpeachBiden, to garner support.
