President Muhammadu Buhari has promised Nigerians that insurgency will end this year.
Buhari said this after Friday’s Juma’at prayers held at the National Mosque, Abuja, which coincided with this year’s Armed Forces Rememberance Day.
Buhari was represented by Major General Magaji Salihu (retired), who is the Defence Minister, said that, “what is happening in this country will soon be over. This year, we will finish what we are doing; pray for us that we succeed.”
He further said hat Nigeria would continue to remember the souls of those who died for peace to reign and that the families of the fallen heroes will never be neglected.
He called on the worshipers to continue to pray for the Military who face not just the threat from Boko Haram, but also bandits and kidnappers.
The Boko Haram insurgency has been on in the Northeast since 2009, and in recent years banditry and kidnapping, have been a mainstay too.
