Gunmen on Saturday, kidnapped the
Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, in Benin, the state capital, killing his driver in an attempt to whisk his master away.
According to security sources, Okungbowa was seized at gunpoint and taken away to an unknown destination while returning from an event at Oza Road in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the State.
The kidnappers have not yet contacted Okungbowa’s family or Governor Godwin Obaseki, on possible payment of ransom.
According to The Nation newspaper, efforts to contact the Edo State Police Command were unsuccessful as both the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Babatunde
