Nigerians have continued to suspect foul play on the part of the Federal Government, in the wake of the ‘release’ of the 344 abducted school boys of Government Science School Kankara, Katsina State.
Following the release of a statement by the Defence Headquarters on Friday evening, many Nigerians blasted the authorities for acting out a script.
The Army released the statement below:
TROOPS OF OPERATION HADARIN DAJI RESCUE ABDUCTED STUDENTS OF GOVERNMENT SCIENCE SECONDARY SCHOOL KANKARA, KATSINA STATE
Keeping to its promise to ensure the safe return of all abducted students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina State, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI rescued all 344 abducted students on Thursday 17 December, 2020.”
The students were rescued on the heels of credible intelligence by our gallant troops, with high degree of professionalism to ensure they were all rescued alive. The Military High Command commends troops of Operation Hadarin Daji including all security agencies for their dexterity. The general public who volunteered information are also hereby appreciated.

However, Nigerians feel there is something the Federal Government and those in authority are not saying. Earlier, the socio-cultural Yoruba elders group, Afenifere, said that the Federal Government paid a ransom for the release of the boys. Only for the Military to announce something different later.
On Facebook, Saddo Ibrahim said: “Nigeria my beloved country. Zamfara State Governor disclosed that he personally negotiated the release of the innocent boy’s on behalf of the Katsina State Government through the assistance of the Miyatti Allah cattle breeders association of Nigeria. And now the Military wants to take the honour. Which one are we to applaud?”
Macaulay Ogie said sarcastically: “Good job. The best military in the world.
How many aggressors we’re killed? How many arms were recovered? How many soldiers were killed or sustained injuries?
Rescuing 333 persons no be small job oh.”
Victor Omuji said, “What happened to the abductors? Or they simply vanished in tin air.
How do you deter others from this evil act now becoming a business in Nigeria?”
While Adeoluwa Opeola said, “The script if good for a movie…… just continue deceiving yourself.”
On his part, Obinna Chima said “Waoh, nice script. Operation that “rescued” 344 boys with no arrest, no fatality on the abductors, no known abductor. I will continue to enjoy this my country called Nigeria.”
