Trump Adviser Plans Alternate Electors, As Electoral College Votes Today

The Trump Campaign has gotten ultimately desperate today, being 14th December 2020, as the Electoral College votes are due to be cast in respect to the certified States’ Presidential Election results which has been confirmed to have been won by Democrat candidate Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. Trump’s Senior Adviser, Stephen Miller, has disclosed that they will organise an alternate slate of electors to certify that Donald Trump won the 2020 Presidential Election, in order to make sure that they have a window of legal remedies, even though it is unlikely that the votes will be certified by the States’ Electoral Secretaries.

Stephen Miller made this disclosure while speaking to Fox News this afternoon. Trump and his team have continued to claim that he won the election, alleging that millions of votes ascribed to his major opponent, Biden Jr, were fraudulent and should be cancelled. Evidently, the counties that Trump team alluded election fraud to, are predominantly people of colour, leading to a few judges calling the claims by the Trump team, racist.

The Trump team have lost virtually all their suits challenging the election, safe for one. On Friday, the Federal Supreme Court threw away the suit filed by the State of Texas challenging the election in four swing States. Despite the consistent losses by the Trump legal team, Trump and his close circles are desperate to discredit the Presidential Election. They have so far successfully machinate in the social media, the propaganda that the Election was being fraudulently manipulated in favour of Biden Jr. despite having failed to provide evidence of widespread election fraud that will warrant the cancellation of significant chunks of ballots.

“The only date in the Constitution is January 20, so we have more than enough time to right the wrong of this fraudulent election and certify Donald Trump as the winner of the election.” Miller said, insinuating that the Electoral College votes does not necessarily imply that Biden Jr won.

Biden Jr leads Trump 306 to 232 Electoral College votes. Although there may be slight difference in the total, as there is possibility of ‘faithless voters’ who may go against the choices of their States; of the 50 States in the USA, thirty-two States vote according to the winners of popular votes in their states.

Faithless electoral college votes are votes that go against the choice of the electorate of the state.

Knowing that the Electoral College votes are most likely going in Biden’s favour, the Trump camp are desperately seeking for ways to continue their legal and social media battles to make the Trump supporters believe that Trump indeed won the election.

Today, Trump tweeted: “Why did the Swing States stop counting in the middle of the night?” @MariaBartiromo Because they waited to find out how many ballots they had to produce in order to steal the Rigged Election. They were so far behind that they needed time, & a fake “water main break”, to recover!

The attempt to organise alternate Electoral College electors to vote Trump as winner may only serve to stroke the ego of Trump himself, as the exercise will only serve to be a mere distraction.

Electoral college voters are special electors appointed by the State Electoral Secretaries according to the number of Congress members in that State. Except for the States of Maine and Nebraska, each state’s votes all go to the winner of the election in the State. The electors vote for both the President and the Vice President positions. The votes are actually done in each state and the results transmitted to the Federal office in Washington DC.

Electoral College voting only applies to Presidential Election in the USA. It is conducted six days after the conclusion of the State results certification. This year’s Election certification date fell on 8th December.

In January, the joint session of the Congress will sit to confirm the votes of the Electoral College, and on 20th January 2021 their will be inauguration of the president.
