Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, called on citizens to keep praying for the stability and peace of the country.
Buhari made the call during an address at the 70th anniversary of the Qaddriyya in Kano.
He was represented by Minister of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono.
According to him, prayers would foster unity and help crush security challenges.
The president also urged the youths to use federal government empowerment programmes to learn trades and become self-reliant.
He praised Qadiriyya leader, Sheikh Qaribullah Nasiru-Kabara, for his support and spiritual intervention over the years.
On their part, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, and the Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, urged Nigerians to live in peace and continue their supplication for the nation.
