The Federal Government is considering exempting minimum wage earners from paying personal income tax.
According to the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, the move is aimed at cushioning the effect of the inflation on low income earners in the country.
This is coming just days after it was announced that Nigeria has fallen into her worst recession in three decades.
On Wednesday, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the 2020 finance bill which it has been gathered, will also go a long way in amending various defects in the country’s tax laws.
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajia Zainab Ahmed, made this known.
