Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has tested positive for COVID-19 while on international duty with Egypt.
The Egyptian Football Association disclosed this on Friday on its official Twitter handle.
The statement, however, said that the 28-year-old Liverpool forward who has so far scored 8 goals in the Premier League this season, has no symptoms.
The FA also confirmed that the rest of the players in the Egyptian camp tested negative.
Mohamed Salah’s illness adds to the long list of injured Liverpool players that includes crucial first team players like Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander Arnold, Fabinho, Joe Gomez, Thiago and Chamberlain, just eight games into the new season.
Liverpool currently sit third on the Premier League table with 17 points, one adrift of table topping Leicester City, whom they are set to host at Anfield on November 21.
