The State House Officials have been directed by the Senate to ensure health facilities in the State House are in good shape, so as President Muhammadu Buhari will stop embarking on foreign medical trips.
The Senate gave the charge on Thursday when Mr. Tijani Umar appeared before the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs to present his 2021 budget.
Umar who is the Permanent Secretary of the State House presented a budget of N19.7 billion for the 2021 fiscal year, out of which N1.3 billion was earmarked for the State House Clinic.
The head of the Senate Committee, Danjuma La’ah told Mr. Umar to ensure the Aso Rock Clinic was up to the required standard needed for President Buhari and his administrative staff.
In his response, Mr. Umar said that the clinic would be improved upon once his budget of N19.7 billion is approved.
