Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that it is only after President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office that the truth about the Lekki Tollgate shootings will come to the fore.
The former Minister was reacting to the supervisory visit some of President Buhari’s cabinet members and some South West Governors paid to the site of last Tuesday’s shootings.
Buhari had delegated former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, who is now the Minister for Works and Housing, to represent him in inspecting the scene of the massacre.
Others present were, Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, Rotimi Akeredolu of Osun State and the sitting Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, amongst others from the region.
The team also went to check out other sites of the destruction carried out by hoodlums and youths who allegedly went haywire following the killings at the Tollgate.
Fani-Kayode faulted the decision of Fashola, not a security personnel, to remove a camcorder at the scene of the shootings, in a statement he released on Twitter, on Monday after.
Femi said, “Why would a Minister remove a camera from the crime scene of the biggest mass murder in our history? If the camera was planted by Govt. they will show us what they want us to see. If the camera was not planted & provides evidence of genocide it will be doctored or destroyed.”
“The deep state is at work here but we cannot be fooled. It is only after PMB leaves office that the truth about what happened at the Lekki Toll gate will be exposed. After that he &all those that were involved will be bundled to the ICC at the Hague for crimes against humanity.”
“You can play Sherlock Holmes and Jack Baur today but tomorrow you will smell the shit! Every single one of you that had a hand in that heinous crime will suffer the consequences and be brought to justice.”
