There was commotion in Bukuru area of Jos, Plateau State on Saturday morning, as youths broke into into a warehouse where food items that were allegedly to serve as COVID-19 palliatives have been kept.
Eyewitness who was at the area revealed that the warehouse was forcefully opened as around past 10:00am on Saturday.
The source who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity explained that, “Everyone is picking various food items in a free for all struggle. The securities had no choice than allow them as their population was overwhelming.
“They have been packing the food items since about an hour and they have not gotten to half of the warehouse.”
The source wondered why food items that were meant to be given to people during the COVID-19 lockdown are still doing in warehouse, while most families are going to bed hungry.
Recall that there have been cases of warehouses been broken into in states such as Lagos, Edo, Osun Cross River, in the last few days, with different COVID-19 palliatives food items taken away.
The Plateau State Government in their reaction, denied hoarding the food items.
