Benue State Government Presents Vehicles to Council Chairmen, House Leaders

All the 23 Local Government Council Chairmen and Leaders of Legislative Houses across Benue State, were on Wednesday, presented with Hilux Vans and Nissan Almera vehicles.

Performing the ceremony at the Benue State government House Makurdi, the state governor, Samuel Ortom, said the decision was necessary to enhance operations of the local government officials.

He charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the vehicles, stressing that he was aware of the difficult terrains in their localities and the need for an effective transportation means.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting local governments in the state to serve the people better.

The Hilux Vans presented to the 23 council chairmen in the state.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Benue State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria(ALGON), Mr. Caleb Abah and Leader Gboko Legislative House, Peter Maaki, all appreciated the Governor for the vehicles and promised to use them for the purpose they were meant for.

The Nissan Almera vehicles presented to the 23 leaders of Legislative Houses across the state.

Earlier Special Adviser to the Governor Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Kenneth Achabo thanked the Governor for the official presentation of the vehicles and urged the beneficiaries to be spurred by the gesture.

Governor Ortom and his Deputy, Engineer Benson Abounu test drove the vehicles before they were handed over to the council chairmen and legislative house leaders.
