It was another exciting round of entertaining fixtures in the Game Week Four of the English Premier League as Manchester United FC were spanked 6 – 1 at home by their former coach, José Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur Football Club this evening, just twenty-four hours after their fierce city rivals, Manchester City Football Club, forced Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United FC to a 1 – 1. Everton FC continued their surprise top-of-the-pack performance to brush aside Brighton & Hove Albion 4 – 2 and assume the numero uno position at the top after winning their fourth consecutive Premier League match, at least temporarily pending the late Sunday tie between Aston Villa and their Merseyside rivals Liverpool FC, going above Leicester City Football Club who fell to a shocking 0-3 home defeat to London side West Ham United.
London side Chelsea Football Club were yesterday afternoon clinical and effective, finding ways to contain the pace and trickery of Crystal Palace Football Club while also scoring four times, to win their game 4-0. Goals came unexpected sources: new recruit Ben Chilwell, defender Kurt Zouma, and midfielder Jorginho who scored two penalties.
The roundup of results for the Game Week 4 of the English Premier League is as follows
- Chelsea 4 : 0 Crystal Palace
- Everton 4 : 2 Brighton & Hove Albion
- Leeds United 1 : 1 Manchester City
- Newcastle United 3 : 1 Burnley
- Leicester City 0 : 3 West Ham United
- Southampton 2 : 0 West Bromwich Albion
- Arsenal 2 : 1 Sheffield United
- Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 : 0 Fulham
- Manchester United 1 : 6 Tottenham Hotspur
- Aston Villa 5 : 1 Liverpool (game still on as the time of going to press.)
The game at home against spurs could well turn out to be the spur that the Manchester United hierarchy need to provide enough support for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is still in the market for players that will plug the loopholes in his team.
The loss can also portend the end of Solskjaer as coach of Manchester United FC.
Liverpool appears to be missing their talismanic Senegal international, Sadio Mané. Mané was announced to have tested positive to COVID-19, and is likely to miss at least half of the month in quarantine as he receives treatment. They trail Aston Villa by 5-1 with still 30 minutes to play for.
