Russian Who Claims to be the Reincarnation of Jesus Arrested

A Russian man by the name of Sergei Torop has been arrested by the Russian Police for claiming to be the reincarnation of Jesus.

Torop, who was a former traffic warden has been running a religious cult in Siberia for the past 30 years.

It was gathered that the police raided his place of abode and nabbed him together with two of his close associates.
They are Vadim Redkin, a former drummer in a Soviet-era boy band, and Vladimir Vedernikov.

The day he was arrested.

Vissarion as he is also called said in 2002, “I am not God. And it is a mistake to see Jesus as God. But I am the living word of God the father. Everything that God wants to say, he says through me.”

Torop, 59, will be charged for running an illegal religious group and for extorting his followers.

Vissarion whose church is known as The Church of the Last Testament, claims that on 18 August 1990, when he was 29, he had a revelation that he was the reincarnation of Christ. He first spoke publicly about his claim in Minusinsk on 18 August 1991.

He has three kids.
