Tragedy struck the Nigerian Airforce on Monday, as two of their officers were reportedly killed in a fatal road crash that occurred in Bauchi.
According to sources, one other personnel is critically injured in the crash.
The accident involved three Air Force personnel, who were driving in a Volkswagen Golf car and another Ford Galaxy carrying six passengers.
One of the personnel was said to have died instantly, while the second victim died after he was taken to the Air Force Hospital and was receiving treatment.
The third personnel was said to be currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.
The Volkswagen Golf the Air Force personnel were driving in was divided into two parts in the accident, according to the Punch newspaper.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said that the crash occurred at Gubi Gari village, along Bauchi-Kano highway..
Efforts by newsmen to get the reaction of the Nigerian Air Force proved abortive.
The Public Relations Officer of the Special Operations Command, Bauchi, Flight Lieutenant FC Ezenyi, did not respond to enquiries through text messages.
