The initiative of Community Policing in the country, on Tuesday recieved a boost with the receipt of three (3) operational vehicles donated to the Nigeria Police Force by Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited.
Recall that the federal government had last week approved the sum of N13.3 billion for the commencement of community policing.
The vehicles were donated to the force as part of support in the ongoing measures to reposition the force for maximum performance.
Receiving the vehicles, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, expressed the Force’s appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Innocent I. Chukwuma, and the Management of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited for the gesture.
Represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Operations, Abdulmajid Ali, Adamu expressed optimism that with such support, the force will be able to meet its operational and infrastructural needs in combating crimes and criminality in the country.
The police boss called on corporate bodies and individuals to emulate the gesture of Innoson.
The vehicles, Innoson G12 Series, consisting of the Single Cabin Pick-up Truck MSI, Double Cabin Pick-up Truck MSII and the SUV MSIII were presented to the force by Jonas Maduabuchukwu Ojukwu on behalf of Chukwuma and Management of the company.
Innoson disclosed that the gesture was in furtherance of their Corporate Social Responsibility, community support and other efforts directed at making the country peaceful, safe and secure.
