The Enugu State Police Division has nabbed a group of armed robbers, notorious for several criminal offences in the State.
Speaking to newsmen in Enugu, the chief Public Relations Officer of the police, ASP Daniel Ndukwe said they will be indicted for conspiracy, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearm, cultism and receiving of stolen property.
The suspects he said, include Victor Obute (a.k.a “Choiyi”) aged 21 from Igbo-Etiti L.G.A; Ebuka Omene (a.k.a. “OPEC”) aged 21 of Edemani Nsukka; Chekwube Alumona (a.k.a “Electric”) aged 22 of No. 1B Aludele Street, Nsukka; Chibuike Onoja (a.k.a. “Ginger”) aged 24 of Enugu-Ezike; and Odoh Nnaemeka (a.k.a “Pastor”) aged 24 of Enugu-Ezike.
Others are Sunday Eze (a.k.a. “Badoo”) aged 18 of Enugu-Ezike; Chijioke Anigbogu aged 21 of Nsukka Town; Okpe Onyebuchi aged 22 and Christian Eze aged 40 both of Amalla Village in Udenu L.G.A of the State.
He said it was while on a stop and search duty along Enugu/Makurdi Expressway that two of the gang members were apprehended together with one locally made pistol with two live cartridges were found on them.
The two suspects led the police to the arrest of other gang members, namely: Chekwube Alumona, Chibuike Onoja, Odoh Nnaemeka and Sunday Eze in Enugu-Ezike community of the State on 16th August, 2020.
