The parents of the student of University of Lagos (UNILAG), have thrown their weight behind the embattled Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, after he was ‘sacked’ by the institution’s Governing Council some few days ago.
The parents labelled as illegal and corrupt, the decision of the Dr. Wale Babalakin-led Governing Council to sack Ogundipe.
Mr Babatunde Majekodunmi, who is the head of the Parents Forum, said this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent.
He said Babalakin had promised parents to toe a peace path in the affairs of the university and should have therefore followed due process if Ogundipe did what warrants his removal.
The chairman said that such a move, if allowed to take effect, will only tarnish the image of the institution, both locally and internationally.
Mr Babatunde Majekodunmi called on President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the matter to ensure things don’t get worse.
