The President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has disclosed yesterday that the constituency project of which he is sponsor, which is the construction of the Information and Communication Technology Centre of the Federal University Gashu’a, Yobe State, has been completed. The Senate President said that the project was started and finished within five weeks, and is ready to be commissioned.
He said “In fulfillment of the promise earlier made by the President of the Senate, His Excellency, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, the construction of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at the Federal University, Gashua, Yobe state, which he sponsored has been completed.
“The ICT centre, a constituency project of the President of the Senate, commenced and was completed within a period of 5 weeks and equipped with state of the art facilities is now awaiting commissioning for the good use of the staff and students of the university.” “
This is not the only effort of the Federal Government towards ICT endeavour in the Federal University, Gashu’a. In July 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari through the Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiative (PCNI) established an ICT Resource Training Centre at Federal University Gashua.
