Ọgbẹni Rauf Aregbesola, Minister for Interior of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was yesterday 27th July, 2020 awarded a Civic Responsibility Award for Outstanding Leadership and Commitment to National Unity from the National Orientation Agency NOA. The most immediate past two-term serving governor of the State of Osun has been taking great strides in the Ministry of Interior, and ensuring that the operational strength of the agencies and parastatals in his Ministry are made topmost priorities.
The Minister has shown uncommon maturity and deft human resources management, while also working hard to create the enabling environment for synergy among the leaders in the MDAs and parastatals. The Minister has shown to employ a hands-on approach to his work, and his commitment level has been infectious to the workers of the Ministry and its subject agencies.
The award was presented to the Minister by the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Dr Garba Abari in company of other directors of the NOA. Also present during the award is the Controller General of Corrections, Ja’afaru Ahmed.
Celebrating the award, the Minister said, “Today, I received a Civic Responsibility Award for Outstanding Leadership and Commitment to National Unity from the National Orientation Agency. The award was presented to me by the Director General, Dr. Garba Abari and some directors from his agency.”
Paramilitary agencies like Nigerian Security & Civil Defence Corps (alias Civil Defence), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS, formerly Nigerian Prisons Service), Federal Fire Service, the Nigerian Customs Service, the Nigerian Immigration Service, are all under the Ministry of Interior.
