The Federal Government has been urged by the Chancellor and founder of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, Ile Ife, Dr. Abdulrahman Adedoyin, not to reopen universities and schools if the daily COVID-19 figures are true.
Dr. Adedoyin did not leave out those sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
He made this statement in Ibadan, where he said that the Government can go ahead and reopen churches, mosques, markets and schools if they have agreed that the Coronavirus is going to be a mainstay.
The proprietor cum chancellor also said that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 should be dissolved, as there has been no improvement despite the huge amount of money being spent on combatting the pandemic.
He said, “As far as I am concerned, It is better to be alive than to die. If the Federal Government is right with the figures of rising cases of coronavirus everyday, schools should not resume at all.”
