The Kano State government, on Sunday, charged commercial motorists and Keke owners to stops taking passengers without face masks.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who gave the charge, also said there will be consequences over failure to comply with the call.
He warned that anybody who shunned government directives would be charged accordingly.
He stated this while launching the distribution of facemasks to members of different unions at the government House in Kano.
According to him, he will not allow anybody retard success achieved in the fight against the COVID-19.
The governor directed Security operatives to ensure the full compliance with the coronavirus protocols by commercial vehicle owners, adding that they should enforce the wearing without fear or favour.
Ganduje said “we are still facing challenges of people who refuse to follow the protocols.
“We have achieved a lot in the last few weeks, for example in the last one week, we submitted 229 samples but we had only 3 infected, the following morning, we submitted 239 but had zero infection”.
