A police inspector in Imo State has allegedly shot and killed an Okada rider, for not putting on face mask.
Reports say that the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, around 3pm, at Banana Junction, Orlu, Imo State.

The Okada man was just 27 years old.
A source told newsmen that the motorcyclist who was carrying a passenger, was shot at close range after he was stopped at the checkpoint.
Consequently, a band of police men were sent to the scene to help bring calm.
Another eyewitness told newsmen that the inspector killed the victim after he refused to give him money for not wearing a face mask
He said, “He demanded money from the okada rider but the guy refused. All of a sudden he cocked his rifle and shot him at close range. The guy died immediately.”
It was learnt that on seeing that the motorcyclist had died, the inspector took to his heels but people within went after him.
When the Police Commissioner, Isaac Akinmodele, was contacted, he said that the dead rider had attacked his men with a machete.
He however added that the police man who shot and killed the Okada rider and the rest of the officers that manned that checkpoint would be brought to justice.
