The Dangote Group PLC has yesterday 3rd of July, 2020 donated five brand new four-wheel-drive operational vehicles to the Kogi State Government as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to the citizens of Nigeria to support the fight against insecurity and enhance swift project execution in communities and remote areas of the State. This gesture is coming on the back of the appointment of the governor by the North Central Governors’ Security Committee as the spearhead of the fight against crime in the geopolitical zone of “North Central”.
Receiving the five units of vehicles on behalf of the State Government yesterday at the Government House, the Chief of Staff to Governor of Kogi State, Pharmacist Jamiu Mohammed Abdulkareem thanked the company for its kind gestures towards the state, noting that the donation was part of the Group’s support to boost Governor Yahaya Bello’s fight against all forms of insecurity and criminality in the state.

The Chief of Staff said that Dangote Group has among the largest cement plants in Africa, situated in the state in Obajana. He stated that for companies to be able to function effectively, they require a well secured environment, which the Governor has been striving to ensure. The Pharmacist noted that the donation was a show of appreciation by the Dangote Group, and a recognition of the efforts of the Governor.
Pharmacist Abdulkareem encouraged law abiding citizens of the state to continue in such good conduct; and warned those that have taken criminality as a way to desist. He said the state Government under Bello’s watch will not give them the joy to perpetrate crimes.
The Group promised that effort is ongoing to deliver more vehicles to the State for the sake of projects execution and monitoring, and fight against crime in the vast nooks and crannies of the State.
