Arsenal Fans in Ecstasy as Bukayo Saka Signs Long-Term Contract

Fans of Arsenal Football Club have been in perpetual fear over the possibility of losing their beloved teenage sensation, Bukayo Saka, to other clubs or rivals and it was looking to them as a mere dream their desire to have the management of the club tie the talented midfield and wingplay wizard down to the club, considering the waned hope of securing Champions League qualification. Although news emanating from North London is what they had wished for, they never expected it so soon. “London is my home. Arsenal my team. I’m so happy to finally announce my contract extension😄📝 I love playing for this club and I’m looking forward to what the future holds. The hard work continues so I can continue living my dream🙏🏿❤️ God is Great !!” Bukayo Saka tweeted.

Saka has become a regular starter in manager Mikel Arteta’s Premium League squad and has played in several positions already, holding his own each time he is called upon. The eighteen year old, despite playing more time from the defensive left-back position this season, has had more assist than any other player in the Arsenal FC player in the squad in the 2019/2020 campaign. He has eleven. The first teenager to get double-digit assists since Francesc Fabregas achieved the feat for the Gunners in the 2006/2007 season.

Saka is a reliable offensive option because of his dribbling skill and tenacity, and has great recovery rate when dispossessed of the ball. His speed and accuracy of through balls is always a threat to oppositions. He possesses great long-range shots too. These qualities have endeared him to the fans.

The contract situation of the academy graduate has been in the balance since the beginning of the season, and the news of him signing long-term is a delightful one for the club and its fans.

“Bukayo is a talented and intelligent young player. He has impressed me with his work ethic and attitude to learn and adapt, and it has paid off in his performances. I am excited to continue working with him to develop him further, and for him to help us achieve our goals.” Mikel Arteta, the Head Coach and Manager of the club.

According to Edu Gaspar, the Technical Director of the club, “This is something everyone involved wanted to happen and we are delighted that Bukayo has signed a new long-term contract. He’s making great progress and is one of a number of young players who have developed through our academy. This is so important for us as we move forward as a club.”

Arsenal said on their website, “The 18-year-old has been with us since the age of eight and has come through the ranks at our Hale End academy. He has made an impressive impact this season and has now made 37 first-team appearances since his debut in the Europa League in November 2018.

“Bukayo made his Premier League debut at the age of 17 in a 4–1 win against Fulham last season. He scored his first senior goal in a 3-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt in September last year.””

Bukayo Saka has a great reservoir of energy and courage when he is on the field of play. His level of confidence has surprised many rival coaches. He never seem to be intimidated by his opponents and always likes to position himself to receive a ball. He certainly will be immense for the future of the North London club.
